These static pages do not include accounts, forms, advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies by default. The web server and infrastructure providers may process ordinary request information—such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, and timestamp—for delivery, reliability, abuse prevention, and security.
2. Downloads and repository hosting
VoltVault downloads are served directly from this website. The web server and infrastructure providers may record ordinary request information when a file is downloaded. The private source repositories are not exposed to website visitors.
3. Self-hosted server data
The VoltVault server stores the data its operator enters, including user accounts, sessions, inventory records, stock transactions, locations, uploaded part images, filament records, printer configuration, printer history, notes, and maintenance records. These records stay in the operator’s SQLite database and upload volume unless the operator exports, backs up, transmits, or exposes them.
Printer access codes are encrypted at rest with the operator’s DEVICE_CREDENTIAL_KEY. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Session cookies are HTTP-only and same-site; state-changing requests require a CSRF token.
4. The server operator’s responsibilities
The person or organization running a VoltVault server decides who may use it, what information is entered, how long records and backups are kept, whether logs are collected, and whether the service is made available beyond one household or team. Questions about data in a particular installation must go to that installation’s operator.
5. Retention and deletion
Retention is controlled by the server operator. Some inventory and workshop records are intentionally append-only or archived rather than erased so quantities remain auditable. Operators can remove the server’s database, uploads, backups, and logs from systems they control, subject to any obligations that apply to them.
6. Children
VoltVault is a workshop administration tool and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Security
No system is perfectly secure. Operators should require authentication, use unique secrets, limit the server to loopback or a trusted private LAN, avoid port forwarding, use HTTPS when access extends beyond that LAN, keep Docker and the host updated, and maintain tested off-machine backups.
8. Changes and contact
