Filament inventory

Filament inventory for every spool

Track each spool's remaining grams, storage location, and weight history. Every physical spool has its own record, even when several share the same material profile.

How to calculate how much filament is left

Weigh the spool, subtract its empty spool weight, and record the result. For example, a 1,070 g reading minus a 250 g empty spool leaves 820 g of filament.

Scale reading1,070 g−Empty spool250 g=Remaining820 g

You can also log confirmed usage after a print. A printer estimate never silently changes stock.

Getting started

Track filament usage in five steps

QR spool labels

Print a QR label for each spool in the browser, then scan it in the browser or iPhone beta to open that spool.

Optional Bambu AMS slots

Move spools between storage, external holders, and AMS positions. Replacing an occupied slot asks where the old spool goes.

Closest color match

Find nearby colors in the filament catalog to help choose a replacement.

Filament tracking FAQ

Does VoltVault read remaining filament from the AMS?

It shows printer data as an estimate. Your spool balance changes only after you confirm usage.

What if I do not know the empty spool weight?

Start with the material profile default. For better accuracy, weigh an empty spool of that brand.

Can I track spools outside a printer?

Yes. Every spool can have a storage location independent of an AMS slot.

Which filament materials are supported?

Choose a catalog profile or make a custom profile for your material.

Set up your filament inventory

Install the server, add a material profile, and register your first spool.
