Releases
VoltVault 2.0.7 · Build 14
Faster installs and guided print review
- Install or upgrade with verified Linux ARM64 or x86-64 server and browser images built for the release. The Pi no longer runs the server and browser compilation during a standard upgrade.
- Create a project print step, find a matching printer job, review the outcome, and confirm filament usage in the browser and iPhone app.
- Improve fuzzy matching for print filenames while keeping different versions, plates, and directions in review.
- Show upgrade phase timings while preserving verified backups and rollback.
Update the server and browser together. iPhone 2.0.1 (17) is for internal TestFlight testing; external tester distribution remains paused. The optional Laya worker may still need a local build.
VoltVault 2.0.6 · Build 13
Project print review and browser fixes
- Review a completed printer job against a project print step even when material was not linked before printing. Confirm the result before stock or project records change.
- Fix a blank browser content area after navigating to certain pages.
- Fix custom net filament weight selection when adding spools.
- Keep part, spool, and location rows readable while selecting QR labels, and clarify whether selections include earlier pages.
Update the server and browser together. iPhone 2.0.1 (16) is intended for internal TestFlight testing; external tester distribution is paused.
VoltVault 2.0.5 · Build 13
Location counts, bulk labels, and smoother daily work
- Count a storage location, review differences, and apply approved corrections to the stock ledger. Scanned spools can be reviewed and moved into place.
- Select parts, spools, or locations and prepare QR label sheets with page and starting-slot controls.
- Improve sign-in, loading, stock saves, filament updates, and project moves with motion that respects reduced-motion settings.
- Improve recovery from interrupted project updates and shorten the browser proxy keepalive interval to address a possible source of intermittent upstream errors.
Update the server and browser together; the location-count database migration runs as part of the normal server startup. The iPhone 2.0.0 (15) beta has been uploaded to TestFlight and may take time to become available. Printing and scanning labels on physical hardware still need validation.
VoltVault 2.0.4 · Build 13
Browser appearance and dashboard polish
- Add System, Light, and Dark appearance controls in browser Settings, with matching brand assets.
- Improve printer camera actions and saved AMS display preferences, plus inventory, filament, overview, and settings layout details.
- Include the current server and browser client in the verified installer and updater, retaining the Raspberry Pi ARM64 build fix.
The iPhone beta remains version 2.0.0 (14). Existing self-hosted users can use the verified updater.
VoltVault 2.0.3 · Build 13
Raspberry Pi installation fix
- Include Python, make, and a C++ compiler in the server image build stage so ARM64 hosts can compile the SQLite dependency when a prebuilt package is unavailable.
- Keep the runtime image lean; the build tools are not copied into the running server.
- Retain the 2.0.2 TinyFish supplier preview fix, current browser client, and optional CPU-only Laya build recipe. Laya remains off unless selected.
This version restored Raspberry Pi installs and upgrades. The iPhone beta remains 2.0.0 (14).
VoltVault 2.0.2 · Build 13
Supplier preview fixes and smaller optional worker builds
- Read a supplier brand shown on the line after its label in TinyFish-rendered pages, including the tested Amazon example. Unknown part numbers stay blank for review.
- Use a CPU PyTorch wheel for the optional Laya worker build so Raspberry Pi installations avoid CUDA dependency downloads. The worker remains off unless selected.
- Include the current VoltVault 2.0 server and browser client together in the verified installer and updater.
The iPhone beta remains version 2.0.0 (14). Supplier previews are editable drafts and do not save parts automatically. For Raspberry Pi installations, use 2.0.3: this release did not include native SQLite build tools when a prebuilt package was unavailable.
VoltVault 2.0.1 · Build 13
Optional setup choices and a corrected iPhone beta icon
- Install or upgrade without a TinyFish API key. Supplier previews remain unavailable until the operator adds a key; core inventory, filament, printer, and project workflows continue to work.
- On a fresh interactive install, choose whether to add the optional local Laya worker. Press Enter to leave it off; existing installs keep their saved setting.
- The companion iPhone beta is 2.0.0 (14), rebuilt with the supplied app icon and production push entitlement. TestFlight availability depends on Apple processing and review.
The updater preserves the saved configuration and makes a verified backup before changing the server and browser. If you tried the earlier 2.0.0 command without a TinyFish key, download the current upgrade command again.
VoltVault 2.0.0 · Build 12
A new workshop experience
- Use the redesigned browser and iPhone inventory, filament, projects, and settings views with the new VoltVault logo.
- Browse parts by location, scan a QR code to find a part, and record opening stock with a new part in one operation.
- Review optional supplier previews before using the result. The preview does not save inventory automatically.
- Use the updated server contracts that support the new browser and iPhone workflows.
- The iPhone beta is version 2.0.0 (14); availability depends on Apple processing and review.
Update the server and browser together before using the 2.0 iPhone beta. Keep an off-machine backup of your inventory and uploads before upgrading. Physical printer behavior and real-device iPhone interactions still require supervised validation.
VoltVault 1.2.4 · Build 12
Printer controls and restoring removed printers
- Restore a previously removed printer after reviewing its address, serial, model, and TLS certificates. Its existing printer record and print history remain together.
- Use server-backed printer controls when fresh status and model capabilities allow them, including supported nozzle, bed, and fan targets. Disconnected or stale printers keep controls unavailable.
- Keep printer pairing and status available when the camera port cannot be reached. New camera video stays off until its certificate is reviewed; an existing trusted fingerprint is retained.
- iOS 0.4.4 (12) refreshes common entry screens, adds restrained action feedback, and improves Inventory spacing at larger text sizes.
Update the server and browser together. Physical printer commands, camera behavior, and real-device iOS interactions still need supervised validation; print usage continues to require review before stock changes.
VoltVault 1.2.3 · Build 11
Review filament used by each print
- Review printer-observed filament usage with a visible estimate source and an editable amount before inventory changes. Uncertain multi-spool usage remains for manual review.
- Keep print observations and project matching in durable, retryable work items. Optional local Laya suggestions are off by default and never approve inventory deductions.
- Review changed printer and camera certificate fingerprints before reconnecting the same printer, preserving its identity and print history.
- Refresh web and iOS navigation, inventory, filament, printers, and projects with a shared icon set and clearer connection states.
- iOS 0.4.3 (11) adds the updated workshop screens and certificate review flow.
Server and browser updates belong together. Hardware controls and camera behavior depend on printer model and still require physical-device validation; review remains required before filament stock changes.
VoltVault 1.2.2 · Build 10
- Keep closed-access upgrade validation read-only so startup project reconciliation and printer-event maintenance cannot be mistaken for inventory corruption.
- Name the exact database tables if an upgrade validation check detects unexpected changes.
- Track durable printer attempts and review project print matching, results, and filament usage from the web and iOS apps.
- Restore LAN project-board moves and add printer history views across web and iOS.
- iOS 0.4.2 (10) includes the coordinated printer and project review workflows.
The updater still verifies backups, database integrity, uploads, account data, inventory ledgers, and printer credentials before reopening browser access.
VoltVault 1.2.1 · Build 9
QR spool labels and scanning
- Print compact 50 × 30 mm or standard 70 × 40 mm spool labels with a human-readable spool code and a locally generated QR code.
- Scan labels in the browser using a live camera, photo, or manual code without uploading scan images. Signed-out links resume after login.
- Scan labels natively on iPhone, then open the matching spool against your configured VoltVault server. Share or print the same fixed label sizes as local PDFs.
- Filter and group complete spool inventory by profile, brand, material, placement, or status instead of grouping only the currently loaded page.
- Find nearby catalog colors using deterministic CIE76 distance. VoltVault presents this as closest-color ordering, not identity or confidence.
- iOS 0.4.1 (9) includes the same scanning, labeling, filtering, grouping, and closest-color workflows.
Labels and scans do not create transactions or change inventory. Existing spool/profile identifiers and the immutable gram ledger remain authoritative.
VoltVault 1.2.0 · Build 8
Project boards for prints and parts
- Plan electronics and 3D-printing work on a reusable three-column board with Next, Doing, and Finished steps. Drag cards or use the accessible Move action.
- Whole-build allocation preserves existing reservations, assigns available parts and filament without borrowing from another build, and retries shortages after inventory changes.
- Assembly steps record exact reserved component use when it is safe. Uncertain physical events finish with an Inventory pending state and stay in one Review queue until resolved.
- Print steps store an intended printer and filename. VoltVault can link one unambiguous observed job and ask whether it printed successfully, but it never uploads a file or starts a print.
- Choose reusable manufacturer filament profiles from the built-in catalog or create a custom profile, then register and track each physical spool separately.
- iOS 0.4.0 (8) adds the project board on iPhone and iPad, including drag and drop, a Move fallback, Review, large-text support, and server-backed filament profiles.
Update the server and browser together. Existing inventory ledgers remain authoritative, reservations do not change physical stock, and the upgrade keeps the database, uploads, settings, and printer keys.
VoltVault 1.1.0 · Build 7
- Attach photos to parts and individual filament spools. Photos stay on your server, are resized and compressed to WebP, and have location and camera metadata removed.
- Move filament visually between storage, external holders, and AMS positions. Replacing an occupied position asks where the outgoing spool should go; both changes save together, and eligible moves can be undone.
- Add printer records for A1 mini, A1, P1S, P1P, and X1 Carbon, with separate AMS Lite, AMS, and AMS 2 Pro layouts and multiple units.
- Reviewed identity linking helps match detected filament to an existing spool. Automatic placement is off by default and requires administrator opt-in after verifying your physical setup. Printer estimates and placement changes never change measured grams.
- iOS 0.3.0 (7) brings refreshed inventory, filament, printer, and settings screens, local item photos, and the same server-backed placement workflow. The new beta is submitted through TestFlight; availability depends on Apple processing and review.
Update the server and browser together before testing the new iOS workflows. X1 Carbon live camera is unavailable in this release. Windows upgrades continue to use the manual guide.
VoltVault 1.0.2
- A one-command Docker installer downloads and verifies both components, creates unique keys, and starts the server and browser together. Bash supports macOS/Linux; Windows has a PowerShell installer.
- A separate one-command updater backs up and upgrades official full-stack Docker installations, including older manual deployments. Use the updater on macOS/Linux and follow the manual upgrade guide on Windows.
- Installation starts on localhost. Optional LAN access reuses your configuration and data.
- A guided first-time demo introduces navigation and search, then helps you add your first part, choose or create a storage location, and record opening stock.
- Skip the demo at any point. Parts and stock you’ve already saved stay in your inventory, and the demo remembers when you finish or skip it.
- Replay the demo from Settings whenever you need a refresher. Replay explains the workflow without changing your inventory.
- The demo works on smaller screens and with keyboard navigation. If you close a guided form, it helps you return to the right step.
Existing accounts will see the demo once after updating. If you leave before finishing or skipping, it starts from the welcome screen next time.
